Busquets' departure from Barcelona is announced along with an emotional note from the player.

Sergio Busquets, Barcelona’s seasoned star, will leave the club at the conclusion of the current campaign, the club confirmed on Wednesday.

On June 30, Busquets’ contract with Barcelona will end, and a new deal has not yet been reached.

In a post on his social media pages, Busquets wrote: “I want to thank all the people who allowed me to experience all of this from day one until the end.”

Busquets' departure from Barcelona is announced along with an emotional note from the player.

He went on to say, “I thank the club’s workers, physiotherapists, doctors, equipment men and delegates, coaches, staff, analysts, and above all my teammates with whom I shared times of living and playing.”

“I also thank the members and fans from all over the world who have given me their support and love throughout this time,” he continued. “And of course, my family who has always been by my side.”

He ended by saying, “Thank you so much for everything‚Ķ and see you soon in the final matches.”

Busquets reportedly opted against joining any European team because he did not want to play against Barcelona as Xavi and Andres Iniesta did, according to the daily “Mundo Deportivo.”

“There are two options for Busquets,” the article said, “either to move to the Saudi league or to play in America through Inter Miami.”
