The Chelsea team’s manager, Frank Lampard, explained why N’Golo Kante was unable to participate in today’s Premier League round 36 encounter at Stamford Bridge versus Nottingham Forest.

Kante didn’t make the starting lineup or the bench of substitutes.

Lampard stated in remarks on Saturday that “We lost Kante today,” adding that “He felt something in his thigh, so he may be out for two weeks.”

The final three games of Chelsea’s season are against Manchester City, Manchester United, and Newcastle, and the team’s campaign finishes on May 28.

Kante had an injury at the start of the season that kept him out for almost five months. He then played in just 9 games the rest of the way, 7 in the Premier League and 2 in the Champions League, thus the fresh injury sent him back to 0 points.

Kante’s contract with Chelsea expires at the end of this current campaign, but he made it clear that he would like to extend it and remain at Stamford Bridge.
